Privacy Policy
CatchLog is designed to keep your fishing journal private and under your control.
What the app stores
CatchLog stores the catches, dates, species, measurements, notes, venues, sessions, photos and locations that you choose to add. These records are stored locally on your iPhone. CatchLog has no account, developer-operated backend, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. The developer does not collect your journal data or precise locations from the app.
Camera, photos and location
CatchLog asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo. You can select photos through Apple's photo picker without granting general photo-library access. If a selected photo contains a capture date or location, the app offers you a choice before using that information in a catch. CatchLog asks for When In Use location access only when you choose to save your current location. You can manage camera and location permissions in iPhone Settings.
Maps and Apple services
CatchLog uses Apple MapKit to display maps. Map content may be loaded from Apple when you use map features. Apple's handling of information used by its services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Depending on your iPhone settings, Apple's device backup services may also back up app data.
Exports and backups
You can export a CSV file, a PDF journal or a CatchLog backup from the app. These files are shared only with the destination you choose in the iPhone share or file picker. A backup can contain catch records, photos and exact locations, so store it carefully.
Retention and deletion
Records remain on your iPhone until you delete them in CatchLog or remove the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device, but does not remove copies you previously exported or any device backups managed by Apple.
Support contact
For privacy questions, contact the developer through the CatchLog support repository. GitHub issues are public, so please do not post private information there.
